Online Discussion about Trail Issues

The
CCCMB email list allows everyone interested in the trails of San Luis Obispo county to send and receive information or announcements.
Please contribute to the discussion.  If you're going to do some trail work, post something about it.  Someone might just show up and help you.

The discussion focus of the group consists of mostly:
  • Trail conditions
  • Reminders of upcoming trail work events
  • Warnings
  • Confirmation of work completed
  • Identifying the availability of tools in a particular location
  • Discussions of local issues
  • Any other trail-related topic you want to bring up

How to Join:

In order to Join the CCCMB Google Group, you will need a Google Account.  Don't worry--they are free.  If you already have a gmail.com account, you're in.

  • If you don't have a Google Account, follow their instructions to create one.
  • You'll need to pick a nickname on the group.  We suggest your first name and last initial.  ex: Mike D
  • The next screen you'll see is about how you want to receive emails from the group.
  • The default selection will send you a copy of each posting, as soon as it is made.  If you only want to get at most a single email per day, select the digest or the Abridged Email.
  • Once you apply, one of our group managers will approve your account before you can post.  This normally happens within a few hours; please be patient.

Basic Group Etiquette
  • Show Courtesy, Dignity and Respect to other members in the group
  • This is a public forum: please keep it civil and positive.  It's on the web, open for others to see and read.  Keep that in mind. Email and the written word in general can be easily misconstrued without the visual feedback of face-to-face conversation.
  • If you wouldn't say it to someone directly, with 200 people listening in, you shouldn't post it to the group.
  • This is a managed group.  If you are abusive to other members, the managers have the power to ban you from the group.
  • Sorry for all the negative discussion, but you only need to take a look at the typical comments on a YouTube video to get an understanding of why we are putting these suggestions out there.
  • We have tried to limit the opportunity for accidentally posting to the group.  "Reply" will only go to the author.  If you want to reply to the entire group, you'll need to specify cccmb@googlegroups.com in your "TO" or "CC" list.
