Diablo Canyon / Wild Cherry Canyon - Information Page

TONIGH - Sept 9th - 6pm in SLO County Government Center

Please attend the meeting of the Diablo Canyon Community Engagement Panel, and share your long-term vision for the 12,000 acres that surround the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant, including Wild Cherry Canyon.  The meeting starts at 6 PM with an informal gathering/poster session. The formal meeting begins at 7 PM, and most of that time will be devoted to public comment.  The meeting will be held at the SLO County Government Center (where the Board of Supervisors meet) at 1055 Monterey Street in SLO.

Now is your chance to be heard!

IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND:   please take a moment and write a quick word for conservation, using this link:  Public Submission Form

If you wish to stay updated on matters relating to the Diablo Lands, please follow our Facebook page, “Friends of Wild Cherry Canyon.”

Finally, if you’re interested in what happens to the other land – the 700 or so acres located immediately adjacent to the power plant, then please also attend the next meeting on September 26th (same time/place) regarding the possible repurposing of Diablo facilities (not including anything with low to high level radiation including the reactors, generators, etc., which must be removed/managed).
